Is your website SSL secured?
Dear [simplenews-subscriber:user:field_first_name]
Google has just released a stable update for their Chrome browser (version number 68). It brings something that we've all been expecting: a Not Secure warning for all HTTP sites.
Google has been pushing for an SSL-secured web under its HTTPS Everywhere campaign. This move could be the end blow to the usage of plain HTTP.
Several reasons you should consider SSL include:
-
critical for data security during page loads (e.g. encrypt usernames, passwords, credit card info, etc )
-
vastly improves website load times under SSL with technology not available to plain HTTP
-
Google prioritises the search rankings with SSL above those using plain HTTP
